The overall trend in Big Pharma towards separating animal health from human health continues to expand with several Pharmaceutical enterprises buying, selling or exchanging Veterinary Pharmaceutical assets.

In parallel with this trend comes rapid changes in the Veterinary Pharmaceutical jobs arena with some organisations scaling back employment because of duplication as a result of mergers of acquisitions whilst others are rapidly expanding as they reap the rewards of less competition and growth.

The job opportunities to Veterinarians in the Pharma space provide the highest salaries of any category of Veterinarian employment, with an average salary of around $187,415 (2017 AVMA).
